SLOW COOKER OVERNIGHT CRANBERRY OATMEAL

Yield: about 6 servings

 

1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats (oatmeal)

3/4 cup dried cranberries

1 cup chopped, apple

2 cups water

Pinch of salt

Place oatmeal, cranberries, apple, water and pinch of salt in slow cooker. Cover and set on low temperature setting; cook 8 to 9 hours. Stir before serving. Add milk to taste.

Nutritional information (per servings): Calories 150 (less than 3 percent from fat), protein 5 g, carbohydrates 29g, fat 1.5 g (saturated 0.1 g), cholesterol 0 mg, sodium 35 mg, fiber 4.8 g

  2. Oatmeal sounds great. You really need to cook it slow and low to get it just right. You never get the same consistency when you use the quick oats as the old fashioned style oats.
