½ lb. smoked sausage, sliced or chopped
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 can (28 oz. each) whole tomatoes, undrained
½can tomato paste
1 green bell peppers, chopped
1 bay leaf
2 cans (15 oz. each) pinto beans, drained
Salt and pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients except salt and pepper in a slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 8 to 10 hours. Season to taste with salt and pepper and serve garnished with sour cream and cilantro, if desired.
